Arrival in Asia

Our trip to the airport was peaceful and efficient and the flights were without incident. Our bags were each one or two pounds overweight but we were able to easily pull out a couple of items and put them in our carry-on luggage to "make weight," as a wrestler would say. We arrived in Taipei right on schedule and so did our luggage. We are now staying with a dear friend, Becky, who was Nancy's colleague in China when I first met them both. If you came to our wedding in the meadow 3+ years ago, she is the gal from Atlanta who sang "Be Thou Our Vision."

We don't assume that our smooth experience thus far is due to our skill as seasoned travelers nor due to our clever choices of flights and airline arrangements. We interpret this kindness as God's response to the fervent prayers of our righteous brothers and sisters, which we know to be of powerful effect. We OWE you! Let us return the favor when you have anything at all on your hearts.

"He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many." 2 Corinthians 1:10-11
