Today, February 1, our colleague, Wilson Phang, is flying into Haiti for one week. He will work alongside CURE International medical personnel to supply pastoral and psychological support for these professionals who are going all out to save lives and alleviate suffering. He will also be helping them to assess what further resources might be necessary to help them minimize the possibility of suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after facing the trauma of so many in Haiti.
Nancy and I are still on hold for possible deployment to the Dominican Republic (DR) if and when Cure International thinks it would be meaningful. So far they are so intensively engaged in Haiti that they are not able to spend any significant down-time in the DR.
